Dr. Bruce Clemens will speak about his experiences in founding & operating a non-profit organization in Central America.

Carol Hamilton:“Business Plan Workshop”
Enjoy this basic walk-through of the business plan, detailing the sections found in a traditional business plan and what investors are really looking for.  Bring your business plan to work on or some blank paper to get started!

Beth Bedard & Kristie Hale: “The Business of Design”
Join two JMU grads as they talk about their business, the Impulse Design Group.  They will discuss why they decided to start a business, the obstacles they’ve faced, and the rewards of working for themselves.

Peter Denbigh: “The challenges of starting up a small business after graduating”
Mr. Denbigh will share his thoughts on the challenges of starting his business, WildWires, a year before graduating from JMU.

Henry Reeves: “How to Start a Small Business”
Mr. Reeves will discuss the role of the Harrisonburg Small Business Development Center in starting your new company.  He will discuss what it takes to be an entrepreneur, ways to get started, and proven methods of getting initial funding for your idea.

Richard DiGiallonardo: “Entrepreneurship in the Music Industry”
Join Mr. DiGiallonardo in discussing the business aspect of the very competitive music industry.

Curt Hartman: Overcoming Financial Concerns”
Listen to Mr. Hartman’s experience with starting a car dealership and the troubles that arose during his first few years of operations.  Mr. Hartman will share his viewpoint of the automotive sales industry.
